Certifications

Trained, approved, accredited

Anyone can buy a laptop and call themselves a remapper. We would rather show you the paperwork: who trained us, whose equipment we are approved to fit, and nine certificates you can open and read for yourself.

A line of framed certificates on the wall of a workshop office, lit from one side.
  • IMI — Institute of the Motor Industry

    Accredits our training

The Institute of the Motor Industry is the professional body for the UK motor trade — the organisation that sets the standards the rest of the industry works to, and that keeps the public register of qualified technicians. The IMI accredits people rather than premises, which is the right way round: the qualification belongs to whoever has their hands on your car. Ours are below, on both halves of the business.

  • The OBD Company

    Trained us

The OBD Company train remappers, diagnostic technicians and security installers from their centre in Chesterfield, and theirs are the courses the IMI accredited. Remapping and immobiliser work are unregulated trades, so where a technician actually learned the job is a fair question to ask. This is our answer, in writing, twice.

  • MASSA — Master Aftermarket Security Systems Association

    Verified installer

The Master Aftermarket Security Systems Association is the UK trade body for aftermarket vehicle security — the installers who fit trackers, immobilisers and alarms once a car has left the factory. MASSA certifies installers against its own standard for immobiliser and security system work. Precision Autoworks UK is a MASSA Verified Installer, and the certificate is below.

  • ScorpionTrack — Scorpion Automotive

    Approved installer

Scorpion Automotive in Lancashire make the ScorpionTrack range and the X-Series immobiliser, including the Thatcham-certified S5 and S7 trackers insurers ask for by name. Their dealer network is application-based rather than open, and we are on it. Both Thatcham certificates are below.

  • Gecko Track — Gecko Telematics

    Authorised installer

Gecko Telematics make the Gecko Track range from their base in Bradford: tracking and fleet systems, an S5 with ADR driver tags, and units that can immobilise a stolen vehicle remotely. We are an authorised Gecko Track installer. Both Thatcham certificates are below.

So — what are you driving?

That is who trains us and who backs the equipment we fit. Tell us what you drive and what you want done to it, and we will come back with a price.
